Welcome to Foxlore Corgis!
We are a small show and breeding kennel nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains southeast of Seattle, Washington. As many others in our breed have done, we began our foray into breeding and showing with German Shepherds. My love affair with Corgis began in 1970 when my good friend and mentor, Dr. Charles Kruger, DVM, gave me my first Pembroke Welsh Corgi as a Christmas gift.
That first Corgi, Ch. Schaferhaus Foxy Girl, became the first of many Champions. Probably the most recognized of those was BIS. BISS. Am/Can/Int. Ch. Foxlor Shaferhaus Sammy Sosa, ROMX, "Sammy". He garnered many Best in Shows, Herding Group placements and Best of Breeds in his show career. He was one of only 2 Corgis to win the Herding Group at the prestigious Westminster dog show, held yearly at Madison Square Garden in New York City and also at the Eukanuba National show. He also was Best of Breed at the Pembroke Welsh Corgi National Specialty as well as Best of Opposite Sex twice, once as a Veteran.
With limited breedings Sammy is currently ranked number 4 on the list of top producing sires of all time in the Corgi breed. The majority of my breeding stock goes back to Sammy. His mother, Schaferhaus Foxlore Sassy is also on the list of top producing Corgis.
I breed only one, sometimes two litters per year, as my emphasis is on quality, not quantity. I am dedicated to improving the breed and continue to produce top quality Corgis to show for myself. I try to secure forever homes for any remaining show quality and pet quality puppies.
